The Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art received a gift on September 10th, 2021 from Mr. Adewale Alimi (1974), an accomplished and self-taught visual artist. A mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Ilorin, Adewale curated an interest in art that quickly turned to passion. 'Mother Earth', this gift to the YSMA, currently stands on display in the museum's sculpture park, distinct for its golden-like sheen.

The art piece joins our permanent collection of metal works, an addition that we at the YSMA are exceedingly glad for. The generosity of members of the art community within and outside the country gives us great cause for excitement, and we hope that more donations would be made by other artists and collectors, as it would be helpful to improving the diversity of the YSMA’s collection.
